Adam Replogle was born in Santa Clara and grew up in Capitola in Santa Cruz, CA, where he picked up surfing from the age of eleven. His Santa Cruz roots run deep, returning back to his small beach town community after traveling the world doing what he does best: surfing the biggest waves the planet has to offer.

From his laid-back personality and humble gratitude for life, you’d never guess Replogle is one of the best surfers to come out of Santa Cruz, CA. Luckily, Airfield Supply Co. got the chance to sit down for a second with the former surfing legend himself.

Replogle is one out of two Santa Cruz surfers to make it to the WCT, the World Surf League Championship Tour, and competed on the World Qualifying Series for seven years before qualifying. After competitive surfing, Replogle became a “big-wave specialist,” which consists of hunting for big waves and being towed into the ocean by a motorized watercraft to catch waves that would scare off most surfers.

So why does Adam Replogle fly?

After making a career out of riding big waves, it’s no surprise that Replogle’s physical body has taken a toll. Having to undergo a hip replacement and a second hip surgery put Replogle in a unique situation. The pharmaceuticals provided to him by the doctor didn’t react well with his body and left him vulnerable to addiction and withdrawals.

Enter Big Pete’s Treats. When Replogle’s girlfriend brought these medicated cookies to his hospital bed, he discovered an alternative that offered the same pain relief but without the dangerous side effects. While he enjoys edibles for its physical effects, Replogle also frequently smokes with friends and old surfing buddies who similarly enjoy an alternative to social drinking. The recovery and rejuvenation that he experiences from consuming cannabis on a regular basis has changed the way he lives his daily life.
